We are mostly water, and we need it (even more than food) to survive. How much? Get to drinking half your body weight in ounces. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds, you should be drinking around 100 ounces of water daily. I know that sounds like a LOT, but if you spread it out through the course of the 18 or so hours you’re awake, it’s not so daunting.
Start the morning with 8 ounces at your bedside table. Start drinking that first glass as you put your robe and slippers on.
And don’t think you have to go from zero to 100 in a day! Your body needs time to adjust to the hydrating effects, so get to those 100 ounces over the course of weeks, even months. It will take time.
